We were once captive to sin, now free from the bondage of sin because of Jesus Christ. Freedom is our inheritance as a Christian (Ephesians 1: 18-21). We have the power, in Christ, to sin no more nor to be controlled by our sin.
The Mission/Purpose Statement (Why do we exist?)
"SET FREE" exists to allow God to work in and through us to reach the unsaved for Christ and to help believers grow in their faith (Mark 16: 15 and Matthew 28: 19-20)
The Vision Statement (Where we want to go and what we will look like when we get there)
The vision of “SET FREE” is to be a Biblically functioning community of men and women committed to a real relationship with God and to each other. Our desire is to be passionate about life change, persistent in reaching others for Jesus Christ, so that all may have an authentic and growing relationship with Him. (Acts 2: 41-47)
We are aware that each person is on their own spiritual journey and it is our desire to encourage our people to grow in the grace and knowledge of the truth (1Timothy 2: 2-4 and 2Peter 3: 18).
It is our desire that each person, within the church, would have developed:
A Heart for God (1Samuel 13: 14; Acts 13: 22; 2Chronicles 16: 9) becoming committed to:
- Worship (both privately and publicly) - John 4: 24; Ephesians 5: 18-20; Romans 12: 1-2
- The Word of God- Psalm 119: 11; 1Peter 2: 2; Colossians 3: 16
- Prayer- 1Thessalonians 5:17
A Heart for God’s People (Galatians 6: 10) becoming committed to:
- Right Relationships and Unity- Romans 12: 15, 18 and John 17: 21
- Accountability and Encouragement- Proverbs 27: 17 and 1Thessalonians 5: 11
- A Servant’s Lifestyle- 1Timothy 1: 12
A Heart for the Lost (Matthew 28: 18-20; Mark 16: 15) becoming committed to:
- Lifestyle Evangelism- John 17: 18 and Matthew 5: 14-16
- Prayer for the Lost- James 5: 16
- Community Service and World Missions- Acts 1: 8
- Discipling New Believers- Colossians 1: 28
